I am with you Lifan, I have some information digestion to do and create a plan. It helps to roll it around in my brain a bit and figure out how to put it into action. I am not a calorie counter...so it feels a bit daunting at this point.

It took nearly a week to start feeling normal again! Wow, that was a long stretch of soreness. Went back this past Friday to do it again and I'm not nearly as sore. Thank goodness! I like trekking poles for Turtlehead. One is good - helps with the steeper sections.

This is a great idea - it really does help with the motivation when things aren't going well and you're really dragging, knowing that there are people counting on you. I raise money for Operation Rebound and CAF for Silverman every year and it's been fun - and an eye opener at times

Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement Tracy! Although my "stomach thing" lasted only for a day, I feel like I'm still recovering from it. It's like the body and muscles are not at the same place. And considering that I have this aversion to chicken and some other foods right now as a result, I don't feel like I'm feeling my body enough to jump right back in to where I was. I find that I have to take a few steps back, training-wise and build again. That's okay except it bruises the ego somewhat. ;-P

Step up - the body needs rest. I currently have one rest day scheduled each week, where I don't do any workouts at all. I also have one step down week each month, where I have more free flowing workouts and can recover from the previous efforts. Without the rest, your body never rebuilds and recovers. It's the rebuilding where the gains are made.

Bonnie - A goal to Complete is perfect goal. That's all you need at this point, is the will to finish the event.

Yea! I feel like you are one step ahead of me! I am still at the I want to complete this stage! I think when I get the lungs for the swimming it will feel more like a possibility to set a time goal. I am having a great time training with you and Annette!
I am coming to terms with the fact that completing the Half Silverman this year is a very serious and genuine goal for me this year. It's not a dalliance. I WANT this. I WANT to do this for ME and in the company of the many friends that I have gathered on this journey. My goal is not only to complete this journey as it was in the past, but I have a time goal now. I am striving for under 9 hours - feeling good and happy! Today I'm gather information. Tomorrow, I'm riding my bike. :)
