Day 1 - The First Step

They say that the first step is the hardest. They must have been referring to the first morning you decide to roll yourself out to bed at o’dark-thirty to go for a run. Yesterday, I was excited.  I knew nothing would stand in my way! This morning, I just wanted 10 more precious, undisturbed minutes of sleep. Luckily, I had committed to a certain someone to get up and run.  So, get up I did, though a little groggy and sleepy eyed – still yearning to be under warm covers.  As we are about to walk out the door and embark on our first run dedicated toward training for next year’s Silverman, I look up at JP and he says, “Silverman or BUST!” Yes, that’s right! Silverman or Bust! So, with a chuckle and a change in attitude, we set off on our first training run… okay, it was really a jog.

Attitude is everything. In this journey, it will be essential to make every moment of training fun in addition to challenging. How do you keep your workouts and training sessions fun?
